CheckMyStay vs RevuWise: Get the Hotel Verdict Without Asking for It

By Rustam Akhmetov ·

You don't know which question to ask

You've found a Booking.com listing. The photos look great and the score looks fine. Then you're scrolling through review after review, trying to work out whether "a bit noisy" means one bad night or every night.

AI review tools should fix this, and they take two approaches. RevuWise is a Q&A assistant. Its listing describes it like this: "Use natural language for searching, and get question answers from real guest reviews". You type a question and get an answer.

That works if you already know what to ask. But the problems that ruin a trip are the ones you never thought to ask about. Nobody books a studio and asks the chatbot about sewer smells.

CheckMyStay takes the opposite approach. You don't ask anything. It reads the guest reviews on the hotel page and gives you three things: a positive summary, a negative summary and a verdict. The home page says it does this in about ten seconds.

A real example: the complaint you wouldn't have searched for

Here's a real CheckMyStay report for Sézam Appart'Hôtel Saint-Malo (Booking.com page).

The verdict stamp says MANY COMPLAINTS. The summary reads: "Modern but poorly optimized studios offering convenient access despite recurring odor issues and cramped, noisy living conditions."

Guests like:

  • Modern decor and clean rooms
  • Good location near walled city
  • Convenient autonomous access process

Guests complain about:

  • Very small, cramped living spaces
  • Recurring unpleasant sewer odors
  • Significant street noise and light infiltration

Think about how you'd have looked into this place on your own. You see clean, modern rooms near the old town and you're nearly ready to book. Would you have asked about drain smells, or about light coming through the windows at night? Probably not. CheckMyStay brought both up without being asked.

To build that report, CheckMyStay read 20 guest reviews, 10 positive and 10 negative. That's a deliberate balance: the praise and the problems get equal weight, so neither side drowns out the other. You can open the full public report yourself.

Who should use which

If you already have a specific worry and want a chat-style answer, a Q&A tool like RevuWise may suit you.

If you're comparing several hotels for one trip, you need a quick yes, maybe or no on each. Turning every listing into a back-and-forth chat takes time. CheckMyStay gives you a verdict you can compare at a glance, so the shortlist practically sorts itself.
